Apprenticeship registration applications requirements.

This form needs to be filled in by individuals who intend to obtain a license, and until such license is obtained, desire to gain work experience in the property intermediation industry with a licensed Property Broker or Real Estate Agent or Branch Manager, and assist in the functions of the property broker, real estate agent or branch manager under his/her regular supervision.

Only a Licenced Property Broker, Real Estate Agent or Branch Manager can be an apprenticeship supervisor. Property Consultants are not authorised to supervise apprentices.

No, the apprenticeship regulation allows individuals to obtain experience in Property Intermediation, prior to obtaining a Property Intermediary Licence.

  • A valid Identification document – ID Card (Maltese National)/Residence Card/Permit (EU National and Third Country National) from both sides (front & back).

  • The details of the licensed Supervisor

  • The licensed Supervisor declaration confirming his/her regular supervision.

An Apprenticeship Registration is valid for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months.

No, an apprenticeship registration is a one-time permission for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months.

The applicant, or the supervisor if applicable, must notify the Property Market Agency immediately.  Upon such notification, any permission for apprenticeship registration with the aforementioned supervisor under these regulations shall be terminated.

Yes, but only for the remaining duration within the one-time 12-month period.

For instance, if an applicant was under the supervision of a Supervisor for eight (8) months and the arrangement was subsequently terminated for any of the aforementioned reasons, the applicant may reapply for an Apprenticeship Registration under a new Supervisor for a period not exceeding four (4) months.

No, the permission issued is not a grant of any form of permission to act as an intermediary alone or conclude transaction on his/her own behalf. In fact, Subsidiary Legislation 644.01 states that “Any permission issued for apprenticeship shall not in any way be interpreted or regulated as a grant of any form of permission to appear upon and conclude transactions.”
